All drivers must have a current full license and be aged 18 years and over, except for the following where the age must be 21 or over: Double Cab Utes & Luxury AWD SUV, All Minibuses, Some Trucks A current overseas license is acceptable, if written in English, otherwise we require a current International Driver's Permit or an English translation Sorry No Restricted Or Learners Licenses  

We require a deposit of NZ $100.00 (or full rental amount if less than NZ $100.00) when we confirm a reservation. This deposit is non-refundable in the event of cancellation but is transferable to another rental within 12 months (if we are advised at least 24-hours before rental is due to commence). You may cancel this Agreement: Cancellations made within seven (7) days of commencement of hire will incur the greater of a one-day hire fee or 10% of the total rental. Cancellations made within 48 hours of commencement of hire or no shows will incur a fee of the full hire cost.

All vehicles and trailers are 24 hours from time of pick-up. All hires start from when collection is made and finish when they are dropped off Any vehicles returned after closing time will be charged out to when the office re-opens the following day

Comprehensive insurance is provided free of charge with an excess (deductible) applicable as follows: All Vehicles We highly recommend you minimize your risk by taking one our liability reduction options. $3,450.00 is a lot of money to lose if someone crashes into you !   • Standard Insurance : Included in your rental, but your damage excess will be $3450.00
  • Glass Cover Only     : Reduce your glass cover to $575.00 by paying an extra $20.00 Per Day
  • Excess Reduction    : Drivers 25 years + can  reduce to $575.00, by paying an extra $39.00 Per Day
  •                              : Includes Glass Cover Option
Utes, Large SUV's, Minibuses, Bus & Van Insurance
  • Standard Insurance : Included in your rental, but your damage excess will be $3450.00
  • Glass Cover Only     : Reduce your glass cover to $575.00 by paying an extra $20.00 Per Day
  • Excess Reduction 1 : Drivers 25 years + can  reduce to $1150.00, by paying an extra $39.00 Per Day
  •                              : Includes Glass Cover Option
Truck Insurance
  • Standard Insurance : Included in your rental, but your damage excess will be $3450.00
  • Glass Cover Only     : Reduce your glass cover to $575.00 by paying an extra $20.00 Per Day
  • Excess Reduction 1 : Drivers 25 years + can  reduce to $1150.00, by paying an extra $39.00 Per Day

Large Trailer Insurance
  • Standard Insurance : Included in your rental, but your damage excess will be $3450.0
  • Excess Reduction 1 : Drivers 20 years + can  reduce to $575.00, by paying an extra $29.00 Per Day
Small Trailer Insurance
  • Standard Insurance : Included in your rental, but your damage excess will be $33450.00
  • Excess Reduction 1 : Drivers 18 years + can  reduce to $575.00, by paying an extra $19.00 Per Day
Admin fee of $103.50 payable on any claims Windscreens Windscreen Damage Will be $103.50  per stone chips, Complete windscreen is to the excess taken. Please note: None of Hanson Rental Vehicles excess reduction options cover roof damage or single vehicle rollover incident. The excess reduction options are null and void if any of the Rental Agreement terms are breached.

The New Zealand government's Goods and Services Tax (gst) of 15% is included in all fixed daily rates.

Payment is to be made at the commencement of the hire by either cash, EFTPOS or debit/credit card.

Credit Card Surcharge

Please note: 

  1. Please note: We apply a 3% surcharge to payments made using a credit card plus a Debit card used online or not present, which is in line with our cost of acceptance.

  2. Please note: We apply a 2% surcharge to payments made using a credit card used in our depots in person, which is in line with our cost of acceptance

Bond

A NZ$200.00 for trailers or $250.00 bond for cars & $500.00 bond on everything else is required for all hires and is refundable on completion of the hire.(less any extra fees)

A higher cash bond maybe requested at anytime and is at the sole discretion of management.
